Masha was born in Bangkok, Thailand, the daughter of Somchai and Samlee, who was a minister and psychologist. As a child, Masha began singing at her local Baptist church. At age twelve, Masha unsuccessfully auditioned for The Thailand's Singer Club. While attending Bangkok High School, Masha recorded a gospel music album with Proclaim Records. The record company went bankrupt and the album was never released. Masha left high school at age sixteen (she later earned her GED), and toured the Christian music circuit. After GMM Grammy executive Nitipong Hornark heard one of Mashas' independent releases, Masha was signed to the label.
